Egg / Sperm Recipient Treatment

Eligible Candidates

 Ovarian function decline / premature ovarian failure / age 40
 Low AMH levels
 Multiple IVF treatment failures
 Severe male infertility (azoospermia or extremely low sperm count)
 Genetic diseases that preclude the use of own eggs or sperm
 Other conditions deemed suitable for donation treatment by a physician

🧾 1. Required Documents

According to Taiwanese regulations, recipients must be legally married:

• Taiwanese residents: national ID with registered spouse information
• Foreign nationals: passport, identification document (such as ID or driver’s license), and marriage certificate
• Mainland Chinese nationals: identification card, Taiwan Travel Permit, Entry Permit to Taiwan, and notarized marriage certificate with authentication
• Records of infertility treatment

Preliminary medical planning can be completed before arriving in Taiwan:

1. Provide medical history and test reports online

2. Physician evaluates eligibility for donation treatment

3. Plan treatment schedule and visit duration

4. Explain the fees and length of stay

Step 1: First Visit to Taiwan (1–2 days for foreign and mainland patients)
• Document review and regulatory explanation
• Signing of treatment consent forms
• Blood tests and uterine environment evaluation
• Husband’s sperm freezing and blood testing
• Medication for embryo transfer cycle (to be taken home if applicable)




Step 2: Donor Matchings
• Matching based on blood type and basic criteria

Step 3: Treatment Process

Egg Donation Treatment
• Donor undergoes egg retrieval
• Husband provides sperm or frozen sperm is used
• In vitro fertilization and embryo culture

Sperm Donation Treatment (2–3 days in Taiwan)
• Wife undergoes ovarian stimulation and egg retrieval
• Fertilization using donor sperm and wife’s eggs




Step 4: Embryo Transfer (2–3 days in Taiwan)
• Preparation of the endometrium
• Embryo transfer procedure (no hospitalization required)

• Blood tests (AMH, hormones, infectious diseases)

• Gynecological ultrasound

4. Physician Evaluation
Explanation of treatment and risks
Signing of donation consent form

5. Treatment Cycle Begins
Return on day 2–3 of menstrual cycle

6. Ovarian Stimulation (10–12 days)
• Daily injections
• Regular monitoring of follicle growth

7. Egg Retrieval
• Performed under intravenous anesthesia
• Procedure lasts 20–30 minutes
• Same-day discharge

8. Postoperative Recovery
• Mild abdominal bloating may occur
• Follow-up visit to confirm recovery
