Preparation Before Egg Freezing
Preparation for egg freezing should begin 2–3 months in advance to optimize egg quality. The key steps are maintaining a regular lifestyle, following a balanced diet (such as the Mediterranean diet), and taking supplements like folic acid, CoQ10, and vitamin D3.
1. Medical Evaluation and Testing (1–3 Months Before IVF)
• AMH Test: Assesses ovarian reserve (normal value > 1.5 ng/mL).
• FSH (Follicle-Stimulating Hormone): Evaluates ovarian function (normal value < 10 mIU/mL).
• Transvaginal Ultrasound: Assesses antral follicle count (AFC).
• Physician Consultation: Inform your doctor about past medical history and medication use.
2. Nutritional Supplements and Egg-Quality Diet (2–3 Months Before IVF)
• High-Quality Protein: Chicken, fish, eggs, milk, soy milk, edamame.
• Key Nutrients: CoQ10 (supports egg development), vitamin D3, folic acid, vitamin E.
• Healthy Fats: Deep-sea fish oil (Omega-3), plant-based oils, nuts.
• Avoid: High-sugar, high-fat, heavily processed foods, excessive oil and salt, raw foods, and overly “cold” foods.
3. Lifestyle Adjustments (2–3 Months Before)
• Avoid Staying Up Late & Get Adequate Sleep: Helps maintain hormonal balance.
• Regular Exercise: Avoid prolonged sitting; gentle exercises such as yoga or brisk walking are recommended.
• Stress Management: Reduce stress and maintain a positive mood.
4. Important Notes During the Treatment Cycle (About 2 Weeks)
• Visit on Menstrual Cycle Day 2–3: After evaluation, ovarian stimulation injections will begin.
• Administer Medications on Schedule: The physician will adjust the dosage based on individual response.
• Regular Monitoring: Approximately 2–3 follow-up visits for ultrasound monitoring of follicle growth and blood tests.
• Trigger Shot & Egg Retrieval: Administer the trigger injection as instructed; egg retrieval is performed about 36 hours later.
Important Reminder:
It is recommended to schedule an early consultation at a reproductive medical center for AMH testing to support a personalized ovarian optimization plan.
