Post-Embryo Transfer Care
For you, who are waiting for good news 🤍
After your embryo transfer, this can be a time filled with both hope and nervous anticipation.
Please believe that you have already done so much for yourself and your future baby. In the days ahead, we hope you will take gentle care of yourself and wait with peace of mind.
Below are some important reminders for this crucial period — we are here to walk through it with you.
🌿 1. Daily Life: Relaxation Is Most Important
Complete bed rest is unnecessary after the transfer.
Normal daily activities will not affect embryo implantation.
You may:
· Take light walks
· Do simple household tasks
· Go to work as usual (avoid overexertion)
· Get plenty of sleep
Please avoid:
· Strenuous exercise (running, jumping, weight training)
· Lifting heavy objects (over 5–7 kg)
· Hot springs, saunas, or hot yoga
· Staying up late or excessive fatigue
Remember, when your body is relaxed, your uterus can relax too.
🍲 2. Nutrition: Gentle Nourishment for Your Body
During the implantation period, choose light and balanced meals.
Recommended:
· High-protein foods (fish, chicken, eggs, beans)
· Dark leafy greens
· Folic acid supplements (as advised by your doctor)
· Adequate hydration
Avoid:
· Raw foods (such as sashimi or raw eggs)
· Alcohol
· Excessive caffeine (recommended under 200 mg per day)
· Herbal medicines or supplements not approved by your doctor
Gentle, balanced nutrition is the best support for your body.
💊 3. Progesterone Use
Please use progesterone (suppositories or injections) exactly as prescribed. Do not stop on your own.
Common sensations may include:
· Bloating
· Breast tenderness
· Nausea
· Premenstrual-like discomfort
These symptoms are common and do not indicate whether implantation has been successful. Try not to overinterpret every physical change.
🩸 4. Is Spotting or Mild Cramping Normal?
Some minor changes can occur.
Possibly normal:
· Small amounts of brown discharge
· Mild cramping
· Light pink or brown implantation spotting
Please contact the clinic immediately if you experience:
· Heavy bright red bleeding
· Severe abdominal pain
· Fever or worsening discomfort
If anything makes you feel uneasy, please reach out to us.
🤍 5. Intimacy
It is generally recommended to temporarily avoid sexual intercourse after embryo transfer to reduce uterine contractions and stimulation. If pregnancy is successfully achieved, sexual activity should also be avoided during the early stage of pregnancy (the first three months). After that, please follow your physician’s advice.
🕊 6. About the Two-Week Wait
Often, the hardest part is not physical — it is emotional.
· Avoid pregnancy testing too early
· Try not to focus too much on symptoms
· Do your best to stay calm and steady every day
You do not need to be strong all the time.
Emotional ups and downs are completely normal.
🧪 Pregnancy Test Timing
We recommend returning to the clinic 10–14 days after embryo transfer for a blood test to measure hCG levels for the most accurate result.
Testing urine at home too early may cause unnecessary anxiety if hormone levels have not yet risen sufficiently.
Please be gentle with yourself.
At this moment, you have already done so well.
No matter the outcome, we will be here with you, taking each step forward together.
If you experience any discomfort or have questions, please contact us anytime.
You are not alone. 🤍
